Mr. Birch has over 19 years experience in the Civil Engineering field with a wide variety of past experiences that have given him a well rounded background in this challenging field. Those experiences have included construction inspection, draftsman, survey party chief, materials testing, construction estimator, construction site superintendent, design engineer, and project manager.

Presently, Mr. Birch's responsibilities as a Principal with Austin Engineering include design engineer, project manager, client manager, plan quality control/assurance, marketing, and business development. Mr. Birch has direct project experience in the design of residential subdivisions, apartment complexes, retail and commercial site plans, sanitary sewers, lift stations, water mains, road rehabilitation, and erosion control plans. These projects require Mr. Birch to coordinate with Local and State Officials, Utility Companies, and General Contractors to ensure their successful completion.

Mr. Creasy has more than 41 years experience in the design and Construction Supervision/Management of residential, commercial, and municipal projects. His extensive experience in the supervision and coordination of construction schedules, materials, methods of construction, adherence to specifications and contract management gives him the ability to guide AECI projects to their successful completion. Not only does he have an impressive construction management portfolio, Mr. Creasy has orchestrated numerous design projects for AECI clients in both private and public sectors.

Mr. Creasy serves as the manager for the construction of all AECI projects and is responsible for the scheduling and oversight of field inspectors. He is also the client manager for the Village of Tremont and the City of Washington. His other responsibilities include designer, business accounts manager, quality control/assurance, marketing, and business development. Mr. Creasy's impressive construction background adds a "real world" common sense resume to the AECI team.

Mr. Cochran has over 15 years experience in the Land Surveying industry. In that time, he has completed numerous property and ALTA surveys as well as right-of-way and topographic surveys, construction layout and related FEMA reports. In his tenure at AECI he has also gained valuable experience as a designer preparing civil design plans on variety of land development plans. Mr. Cochran’s experiences in the field as well as in the office offer him the ability to be uniquely efficient and well versed with the completion of both land survey documents and civil site plans. This results in economically & efficiently completed surveys and plan drawings in which AECI is able to pass along the value and savings to their valued clients..

Presently, Mr. Cochran is working as both a Professional Land Surveyor and Civil Engineering Design Project Manager with Austin Engineering. His responsibilities include the coordination of field crew scheduling, plat preparation & review, field safety manager, client management for both survey and civil design, and direct oversight of technical staff. He is also responsible for coordinating survey document research for both land surveying and civil engineering projects. Mr. Cochran also manages and prepares civil design construction plans from start to finish under the direct supervision of one of AECI’s Professional Engineers. Mr. Cochran prepares project proposals for AECI clients and assists with other administrative tasks as well. He is active in the local IPLSA chapter and serves on the WWW, Marketing, and Public Information Committee.

Mr. Malec has over 16 years of professional experience in the Land Surveying field. His areas of expertise include: Property Boundary Surveys, G.P.S. Surveys, Lot Surveys, Tract Surveys, ALTA Surveys, Duplex Splits, Condominium Surveys, Subdivision Surveys, Easement & Right of Way Surveys, Construction Staking, Topographic Surveys, Aerial Control Surveys, Elevation Certificates and LOMA & Related FEMA Reports. His current responsibilities include managing a survey crew to ensure efficient and timely completion of survey projects to assist Engineers with their design projects, effectively managing clients in the field to deliver a product that is tailored to each individuals need and coordinating the drafting of all survey plats related to his specific projects.

Mr. Malec’s experience in a wide variety of surveying specialties bring the depth of knowledge to our surveying staff which is required to offer our clients the accurate and cost effective solutions they deserve. In his short time with AECI, Mr. Malec has proven to be a valuable resource who has successfully completed a variety of surveying projects and has used the knowledge he has gained through past experiences to improve the efficiency and quality of AECI’s surveying department.

Mr. Clark recently graduated from Bradley University in December of 2012. Upon graduation from Bradley, Mr. Clark began working for IDOT at the Bureau of Bridges and Structures in the Site Investigations and Repairs Unit where he gained valuable experience preparing repair plans, emergency repair projects, cost estimating, site investigations, and bridge inspections.

Since joining the AECI Team as an Engineer Intern, Mr. Clark has worked on a variety of projects for commercial sites, multi-family developments, residential subdivisions, and public streets. As a part of those projects Mr. Clark has been directly responsible for site layout, storm sewer design and calculations, sanitary sewer design, water main design, and local and state permitting. In the short amount of time Mr. Clark has been with AECI, he has become a valuable asset and helps keep projects moving forward on time and staying within budget.

Mr. Rennau has over 15 years of combined experience in the Civil Engineering and Landscape Architecture fields. His employment with traditional design build firms has garnered experience on a variety of Civic and Residential projects from across the Midwest. His understanding of the design process and experience in the construction industry has honed his abilities to listen to project owners and work with Architects, Engineers and Contractors in the optimal development of exterior spaces and habitats. Mr. Rennau’s diverse background provides the means to better understand the scientific and aesthetic principles of Civil Engineering projects.
